FACULTY

Ira holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University Of Tampa (1971) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University (1980). He has 50 years of Educational experience as a High School Biology, Anatomy and Physiology and Advanced Placement Biology Instructor. He also served in an Administrative position as Science Department Chairperson at Miramar High School for a period of 15 years.

Ira began tutoring for the preparation of the ACT/SAT exam part time in 1990 and went full time in 2006 after retiring at the end of a 35 year career with the Broward County Public School District. He has prepared over 2000 students during this time frame for these standardized exams. His greatest asset is how he connects with his students. He labels his ACT/SAT preparation as being “out of the box” in that he teaches his strategies relating every concept to a real life situation.

In his free time he enjoys College Football, traveling to Costa Rica and dining in South Florida’s numerous restaurants. Ira is the father of a 31 year old young lady who is an Emergency Medicine Physician in New York City.
