Carolina Jaramillo
Carolina Jaramillo was born in Medellín, Colombia. In 1991, after graduating from The Columbus School, she moved to
New York to study Baking and Pastry at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. There she earned her Associate’s degree in December of 1993.
Shortly after graduating, Ms. Jaramillo moved to New York City to continue her studies at Pace University, Lubin School of Business, where she earned her B.B.A. in International Management in June of 1997. While studying at Pace, she was offered an opportunity to work in the undergraduate admission office; and throughout her studies there, Ms. Jaramillo worked in the admission office as a graduate student assistant.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, Ms. Jaramillo continued in the Admission Office working as an Admission Counselor. A year later she began travelling and recruiting students in Latin America and the Caribbean, representing the University abroad at college fairs and schools. In 2001 she became the Associate Director of the Welcome Center at Pace’s Pleasantville Campus. There she had the opportunity to meet with prospective students and parents and guide them through the campus visit program.
In March of 2004 Ms. Jaramillo returned to Medellín, Colombia, to apply her Baking and Pastry skills at Santa Clara, the family bakery. She worked at the Bakery developing new products, remodeling the stores and working closely with the advertising agency and designers in the development of ads and printed material. The following year Ms. Jaramillo moved to another business, Hamburguesas Del Oeste. At Del Oeste she dedicated herself to advertising and promotion, remodeling store locations and working closely with the human resources department. After only three years, she became the General Manager of Del Oeste and served in that role until April, 2012, when the business was sold. As the General Manager of Del Oeste, Ms. Jaramillo had the opportunity to manage a company with 17 locations in the city of Medellin and two locations in Pereira, with a total of 120 employees. She developed close associations with both local and multinational companies.
In 2013 Ms. Jaramillo returned to higher education to assist and advise students and families working with JCT4Education. Her considerable skills and personal experiences in both education and business inform and guide students through the process of choosing and applying to colleges and universities in the United States and abroad.
