B.A. Political Science, Yale University
Rocio Olivencia was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She received a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and a law degree from NYU School of Law. During her years at Yale, the writing requirements were frequent and rigorous. Later, her training as an attorney at NYU equipped her with the proofreading and editing skills that are indispensable to the writing process.
After law school, Rocio practiced corporate law, first in New York City and then in Miami, Florida. When her husband’s career moved them to Los Angeles, Rocio decided to take time off from her legal practice and focus on her family.
Over the years, Rocio has helped friends and family with school assignments, college essays, and legal documentation. Having recently lived through the college application experience with her own son, Rocio gained an invaluable perspective on the process of writing college essays. She hopes to use this knowledge as part of her arsenal for helping other students on their own journeys.
Rocio currently lives in Miami with her husband, two children, and dog. She is a native Spanish speaker who enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
