About Chris Bloomfield
ENGLISH FACULTY
Chris Bloomfield was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. After receiving his B.A. in Philosophy from Indiana University, he moved to the Greek island of Santorini where he co-founded Atlantis Books, a renowned independent bookstore. In 2007, he moved to Oakland, California to begin his teaching career in Special Education, during which he earned a Masters degree in Special Education from San Francisco State University, and solidified his expertise in working with diverse learning needs.
In 2019, he moved with his family to Cyprus, where he is now the Special Educational Needs Coordinator at The Heritage Independent School LTD, a British secondary school in Limassol, Cyprus. He works with students from all over the world with various learning profiles, and has developed a Study Skills and Executive Functioning curriculum that he leads as an after-school institute. With 17 years of teaching experience, Chris has helped students develop their study skills, their writing abilities, and fostered a deep sense of what it means to be a student.
